Cristiano’s Ambitious Plan: Rüdiger and Navas on Al Nassr’s Radar

Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival in Saudi Arabia was undeniably a turning point for the country’s league, with the Portuguese superstar’s influence stretching far beyond the four lines of the pitch. However, despite the noise and the goals he continues to score, Cristiano has remained without a title since setting foot in Riyadh—something that appears to have fueled his determination. Eager to end this “drought,” he has now taken on a more active role, acting as an informal ambassador and go-between to attract top names who can strengthen the squad.

“Pressure” in Madrid for Rüdiger

Recognizing that the team needs an immediate quality upgrade in key positions, Cristiano has turned his attention to his former club, Real Madrid. According to reports from Defensa Central, the 40-year-old is trying to convince Antonio Rüdiger to make the move to Saudi Arabia. Although Al Nassr improved defensively after signing Iñigo Martínez, the addition of another world-class center-back to partner him is seen as essential. The Portuguese star believes the German defender’s experience and level can turn Al Nassr into a serious title contender.

For now, neither the player nor “Los Blancos” are rushing into a contract renewal, though relations remain excellent. Having overcome his injury, Rüdiger has returned strongly, bringing back the intensity that Real Madrid’s defense had been missing—especially at a time when Dean Huijsen is unavailable and appears to be feeling the pressure of the shirt. Still, as long as signatures are not on the page, the Saudis are lurking, with their financial power offering an incentive that is difficult to ignore.

Approach in Paris for the “Guardian Angel”

Al Nassr’s transfer safari is not limited to the back line; it also extends to the goalkeeper position. After Ronaldo’s signing, the club has contacted Paris Saint-Germain to explore the possibility of acquiring Keylor Navas. PSG’s leadership is reportedly open to letting the 36-year-old Costa Rican go, given that the starting spot is covered by Gianluigi Donnarumma and Navas has made very few appearances this season.

As Spain’s Marca reports, contacts between the Saudi club and PSG’s ownership have already begun. The experienced goalkeeper is under contract until 2024, but the prospect of reuniting with former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo—combined with his limited playing time in France—creates fertile ground for developments.
