A new Ford Capri lease deal offers drivers the chance to get behind the wheel of the controversial electric coupé-SUV for just £227.99 per month. According to Auto Express, the entry-level model with a 52kWh battery pack provides a competitive 242-mile range while keeping monthly costs remarkably low for an electric vehicle in this segment.

The deal comes from Lease Car UK through the Auto Express Buy A Car service and requires an initial payment of £3,083.88 for a 12-month period. The three-year factory-order contract includes an annual mileage allowance of 5,000 miles, though drivers can increase this to 8,000 miles for an additional £16.80 monthly.

Ford Capri Electric SUV Lease Terms and Flexibility

Drivers seeking more flexible payment options can reduce the initial 12-month payment to nine months, which lowers the upfront cost to £2,604.57. However, this adjustment increases the monthly payment to £250.73, according to the lease provider. The mileage increase to 8,000 miles annually adds just £201.60 to the initial payment.

The entry-level Style trim comes equipped with premium features despite its affordable lease price. Standard equipment includes a 14.6-inch portrait-shaped touchscreen, a soundbar audio system, and intelligent adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go functionality. Additionally, the model features 19-inch aero alloy wheels as standard.

Battery Performance and Charging Capabilities

The 52kWh battery pack offers a manufacturer-claimed range of up to 242 miles on a single charge. Interestingly, Ford has equipped this smaller battery variant with a higher maximum DC charging rate of 135kW compared to the larger 77kWh Extended Range model, potentially reducing charging time at compatible stations.

This lease offer represents a significant reduction from last month’s featured deal on the Extended Range model, which was priced at £256 monthly. The lower-specification version maintains substantial value while reducing the financial commitment for budget-conscious electric vehicle shoppers.

Driving Experience and Interior Quality

The Ford Capri shares mechanical components with the Volkswagen ID.4, yet delivers a distinct driving character. According to the report, the Capri offers a noticeably sharper and sportier driving experience compared to its Volkswagen counterpart. Meanwhile, the interior provides a slightly plusher feel than the ID.4, differentiating the Ford despite the shared platform.

The revival of the iconic Capri nameplate as an electric SUV has generated controversy among automotive enthusiasts who remember the original sports car. However, the competitive lease pricing may help win over skeptics who prioritize value and practicality over heritage concerns.

Market Position for Electric Vehicle Leasing

This Ford Capri lease deal positions the electric SUV competitively in a market where EV costs remain a barrier for many consumers. The sub-£230 monthly payment makes electric vehicle ownership more accessible, particularly for those willing to accept the 5,000-mile annual limit. In contrast, many electric SUV lease deals typically exceed £300 monthly for comparable specifications.

The deal caters to urban drivers or those with short commutes who can manage within the mileage restrictions. Prospective lessees should carefully evaluate their annual driving needs before committing to the contract to avoid excess mileage charges.

Interested customers should note that terms and conditions apply to this Ford Capri lease offer, and prices are subject to change based on availability. The promotional pricing may expire or be modified by the lease provider as inventory and market conditions fluctuate.
